Sadly the excellent Adrian Massey Ratings are no more but we crack on regardless and my selections are now based on nothing more than my own knowledge (please, don't laugh).

There will not always be a selection in every event, but I will state my confidence and whether the selection is solely for placepot purposes or a place only bet using Betfair's dedicated place markets.

My thoughts for the card follow, please bear in mind this is written the night before racing takes place and therefore cannot take into account later non runners nor changes in the going /prices etc.

Beaten many of these here already and so it's the Irish challanger LIGHTENING PEARL who rates the chief danger.

Another one for the Irish here with ALANZA for John Oxx already a winner in the UK this season and takes on Henry Cecil's pair again with some decent opposition from France to make it interesting.

Cambridgeshire Handicap

Going to pick a couple of big outsiders for the Cambridgeshire as favs have such a poor record here, HARRISON GEORGE at 50/1 stands out for Paul Hanagan and Richard Fahey you wont see many of theirs at such a price.

BRICK RED is another for the team of Andrew Balding and David Probert they can get a handicapper ready to strike and though they are both drawn high that's the risk we run if we are on the wrong side so be it.

PIMPERNEL looks one for the boys in blue today and Frankie takes the ride instead of their other option ITTASAL.

At a big price Jamie runs FOUR BETTER with Sophie Doyle taking a useful 3lb off too, worth a look in the place market.

Wide open handicap here, the inform DIRECTORSHIP is of interest with William Buick riding today and seeking a hattrick of wins.

ASRAAB is another one from Godolphin who can go close too.
