HUNTINGDON [NH]

I hope to offer my personal insight into each race, as well as adding my own selection(s) alongside that of Adrian Massey's Top Rated.

There will not always be a selection in every event, but I will state my confidence and whether the selection is say purely for Scoop 6 or placepot purposes.

My thoughts for the card follow, please bear in mind this is written the night before racing takes place and therefore cannot take into account later non runners nor changes in the going /prices etc.

Maiden Hurdle

Not the greatest of maiden hurdles, GENERAL TING ex Sir Mark Prescott and winner on the flat over 1m6f should be well suited to this game now in the hands of Lucy Wadham.

At the other end of the market TEN POLE TUDOR is 33/1 and a winner of 4 AW races at around a mile, his yard can prepare one and wouldnt be a huge shock if settling to stay the 2m trip. 2nd 33/1

Maiden Hurdle

Another maiden hurdle to conjure with, bit more form on offer by several of these, FRONT OF HOUSE a winner of 2 NH Flat races and partnered by the champion AP McCoy so will be well supported for this. 10th 13/8F

SOMMERSTURM doesn't appear to be the best flat horse on show here but one would be foolish to write off a Barney Curley inmate too swiftly and could well take to hurdles 20s looks like a reasonable precaution on the part of the layers. 5th at 66/1

Handicap Chase

Looks set up for RAPID INCREASE to score under Tony McCoy getting the weight from the other inform horse Noakarad De Verzee.

At a fairly attractive price it could be worth a few quid just to hear "You can be delerious if you take life too serious" ... and go for a bit of CHICO TIME.

PETROGLYPH has the hat-trick in the bag and goes for the 4 timer here off top weight but if he's to be taken on then today could the day to do it with what could be a McCoy benefit day ... he rides BOBBLE HAT BOB who he partnered to finish 2nd to Lady Bling Bling who franked that form by winning again on Thursday.

Time to oppose the champion for a change this time who is on the top weight AMERICAN CRICKET up 9lb for latest place performance, that's enough to make us seek an alternative.

ELK TRAIL can take advantage but it's not a great race and one I'll avoid if possible.

Fancy RILEYEV to score for Venetia Williams his Taunton conqueror having recently gone on to score again and dropped in the weights to have every chance.

EDE'S is no youngster but you can't argue with his stats, 111117/1 it's not bad. Got to worth a saver despite his advancing years.

A flat race for the finale, Keep Talking only beaten a head on recent outing, can go close once more but slight preference for AMIRICO to give Venetia another win today.
