Hillingdon Railway Modellers meet regularly on a Thursday Evening at the Yiewsley Baptist Church Hall in West Drayton. They have available a 4 track 0 Gauge test track which has recently undergone a significant upgrade to accomodate DCC as well as having additional boards made up to turn it into an exhibition layout. On occasional Saturdays the club have Open Days for the public to attend view the O Gauge and OO Gauge Test Tracks, and bring their own trains to run if they wish. The Church hall underwent a large renovation in 2010 so there is plenty of room for both layouts and other displays, in addition we have access to kitchen facilities where our members will be on hand to provide tea, coffee and bacon rolls etc. |
The images below were taken during an open day in February 2011, my main intention was to capture the LNER stock built by my father. I had also captured some video clips but these did not come out as well as expected and I will aim to get down to the club on another occasion to try again. Simply click on any image and it should open up in a new window to show more clearly. |

As above but we can see how well laid out the O Gauge test track is here, 4 lines diverge into 8 for the fiddle yard and can easily accommodate an 8 coach train. HRM are installing DCC and at least one of the lines is currently dedicated to that method of control. |
