HRM O GAUGE TEST TRACK

A few pictures from their Open Day August 2008

BACK TO HOME PAGE

Hillingdon Railway Modellers meet regularly on a Thursday Evening at the Yiewsley Baptist Church Hall in West Drayton.

They have built a 4 track 0 Gauge test track which is being extended and upgraded to accomodate DCC.

On occasional Saturdays the club have Open Days for the public to attend view the O Gauge and OO Gauge Test Tracks, and bring their own trains to run if they wish. The Hall has been renovated in 2010 so there is plenty of room, plus tea, coffee and bacon rolls.

The images below were taken during an open day in August 2008, my main intention was to capture the LNER stock built by my father. I had also captured some video clips but these did not come out as well as expected and I will aim to get down to the club on another occasion to try again.

Simply click on any image and it should open up in a new window to show more clearly.

From Right to Left;

  A3 Class 4-6-2 "The White Knight

  Bulleid Pacific 4-6-2 "Lynmouth"

  Pullman Coaches and Mk1 Stock "Bournemouth Belle"

  Unidentified Castle Class 4-6-0

  Unfinished Merchant Navy Class 4-6-2

As above but we can see how well laid out the O Gauge test track is here, 4 lines diverge into 8 for the fiddle yard and can easily accommodate an 8 coach train.

HRM are installing DCC and at least one of the lines is currently dedicated to that method of control.

West Country Class 4-6-2 34001 "Exeter" now ahead of the Bournemouth Belle Pullman.

Behind "Exeter" is an unidentified Castle Class from the GWR and further back in the shot we have an as yet unfinished Merchant Navy Class together with a Type 24 Diesel hauled parcels service.
